Police Superintendent Nasser Dima, newly installed acting city police chief, said the outposts will help boost their campaign against criminality.
As an initial step, Dima said they have put-up an outpost along Gomisa Avenue, the city’s main avenue.
He proudly cited that after ten (10) days of implementation, no shooting incident was reported, only petty crimes.
He said it can be expanded in some other areas such as the palitan (market) site to foil down criminal activities operating within the areas.
Aside from the police outpost, he added, that he has requested the city engineer’s office for the establishment of police assistance center adjacent to the Bureau of Fire Protection office.
Dima stressed that the center will serve those constituents in need of police assistance and at the same time strengthen police visibility in the area. (Apipa P. Bagumbaran/PIA Marawi)
