MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, July 2 (PIA) -- Civil society organizations led by the Lanao del Sur Peoples’ Council (LDSPC) will be holding a solidarity walk today, July 2.
Dubbed "Walk for Ranao," the solidarity walk will start at the Sarimanok Station going up to the Provincial Capitol Complex at around 10:00 a.m. where a short program will be held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.
Prior to the solidarity walk, members of the LDSPC will conduct a fish dispersal and tree planting in Puga-an, Ramain town.
The Solidarity Day will be completed by poster making and essay writing contests at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Hall and Conference Room, respectively.
The conduct of these activities is the civil society’s support to the provincial government in celebration of its 53rd founding anniversary, according to Hadja Nabihah "Noni" Lao, executive director of the LDSPC.
Lanao del Sur is the first province in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao that entered into a partnership and social contract with CSOs and POs for reforms in the region.
