Piagapo Mayor Ali Sumandar lauded the efforts of the local government unit's workforce as well as the unwavering support of their residents to the municipality programs which led to the awarding of the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The SGLG is a national government program that gives incentives and acknowledges LGUs for their consistent excellence across various governance areas.
Sumandar conveyed his immense pride as Piagapo secured the coveted SGLG award for the fourth time.
He emphasized that this accolade is a clear testament to the LGU's unwavering commitment to governance, transparency, and the efficient delivery of services to the people.
Grateful for the townsfolk's support, Sumandar pledged to use the recognition as a driving force to elevate local programs.
"As we celebrate this triumph, we also renew our commitment to serving our communities by providing services they rightfully deserve. We will use this recognition as motivation to enhance our programs and improve local governance," he further said.
The mayor also assured his steadfast dedication to pursuing inclusive and sustainable development, vowing to leave no one behind in the journey towards progress.
Piagapo is a 4th-class municipality with 37 barangays.
Notably, in Lanao del Sur province, two other LGUs, namely Taraka and Calanogas, also successfully met the stringent SGLG assessment criteria in 2023. These criteria encompassed financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental protection and tourism, culture, and the arts.
