MARAWI CITY (PIA) – Over 50 aspiring food photographers captured the essence of Meranaw cuisine through their lenses during the recent food photography contest organized by the Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office (PTCAO) of Lanao del Sur. The event was part of the 65th Araw ng Lanao del Sur celebration dubbed “Pakaradiyaan o Sarimanok.”
With “Meranaw Food” as its theme, the contest aimed to highlight the rich culinary heritage of the province. Participants across Lanao del Sur showcased their best shots, competing for top honors.
The winners were announced during the Inter-School Culinary Competition at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Marawi City on July 25. Jalani P. Pacasum emerged as the grand champion, securing his second consecutive victory in a PTCAO photography contest. His stunning photograph of “Tapay,” a refreshing Meranaw dessert, impressed the judges with its creativity and composition.
“Actually, in 2022, ako yung nanalo showcasing the Sarimanok Stadium. Alhamdulillah, ako pa rin yung winner this year,” he exclaimed happily.
