DILG Sec. Abalos lauds Adiong's BOMBIT program

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr commended Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. for coming up with the Building Opportunities for a Meaningful Bangsamoro Inclusive Town (BOMBIT) Program.

He said the program has raised the standard of public service in Lanao del Sur.

Abalos expressed his praise during the awarding ceremony for the second batch of BOMBIT Program awardees held at the provincial capitol gym on Friday, December 16.

"Ako ay natutuwa dahil si Governor Adiong ay nagkaroon ng BOMBIT program...This is in accordance with the principles of transparency, accountability and performance," he said.

The DILG Secretary also underscored the impact of the program on the kind of leadership and service for the citizens of the province.

"Because of this BOMBIT award, there will be a change. Change na hindi nakikita ngunit nararamdaman. It is the change about leadership, it is raising the standard of excellence in leadership in each and every barangay in the very grassroots. At yan ang mararamdaman ng lahat ng sinasakupan - ang mga mamamayan dito," Abalos further said.

It is the change about leadership, it is raising the standard of excellence in leadership in each and every barangay in the very grassroots. And that will be felt by all the constituents - the citizens here.]

The BOMBIT awardees for the second batch received a plaque of recognition and P20,000 cash prize plus an infrastructure project needed in the barangay. 

The 10 awardees are barangays are Bantayao Poblacion in the municipality of Lumba Bayabao, Botod in Maguing, Bubong in Saguiaran, Cawayan Kalaw in Marantao, Kasanayan in Kapai, Manila Group in Wao, Moriatao Lokus a Datu in Taraka, Rantian in Ditsaan-Ramain, and Tambo in Madamba. LDS Vice Gov. Adiong congratulates new BOMBIT program awardees

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Provincial Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid Rakiin Adiong complimented the ten BOMBIT barangay awardees for their efforts in providing appropriate and excellent service for the welfare of their constituents.

"You really deserved to be commended and be recognized for your exemplary service. Ang binhi na inyong itinanim tungo sa epektibo at mabuting paglilingkod bayan sa darating na panahon ay yayabong at aanihin ninyo ang bunga ng lubos na pakikinabangan ng bawat mamamayan," he said during the BOMBIT program awarding ceremony Friday, December 16.

The awardees are Bantayao Poblacion in the municipality of Lumba Bayabao, Botod in Maguing, Bubong in Saguiaran, Cawayan Kalaw in Marantao, Kasanayan in Kapai, Manila Group in Wao, Moriatao Lokus a Datu in Taraka, Rantian in Ditsaan-Ramain, and Tambo in Madamba.

A flagship program of his father, the vice governor highlighted that BOMBIT program serves as a mechanism to empower and inspire BLGUs in the province to embody good and effective governance.

As such, he is positive that the 10 barangays will serve as good role models for other villages in the province so that more barangays will become BOMBIT awardees in the future.

Meanwhile, Board Member Abdulrashid Balindong, the Federated President of the Association of Barangay Captains in the province, said the BOMBIT program has motivated and inspired barangay officials to further improve their duties as public servants.

BOMBIT program ramps up good governance among Lanao Sur's BLGUs

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The provincial government of Lanao del Sur is ramping up good governance and public service of barangay local government units (BLGUs) through the Building Opportunities for a Meaningful Bangsamoro Inclusive Town (BOMBIT) Program.

The program scouts for functional barangays in the province that will serve as models of good governance and exemplary public service.

"Itinatag natin ang BOMBIT program noong 2019 kung saan anim na pilot barangays ang nabigyan ng infrastructure projects. Sa ilakawang pagkakataon, inlunsad natin itong programa kabilang sa First 100 Days Priority ng ating administrasyon upang kilalanin at parangalan ang kagalingan at kahusayan ng sampung katangi-tanging barangay na ginagampanan ang kanilang mga responsibilidad ng buong husay at katapatan," said Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. during the awarding ceremony for 10 BOMBIT barangays Friday, December 16.

[We established the BOMBIT program in 2019 where six pilot barangays were given infrastructure projects. For the second time, we have launched this program as part of the First 100 Days Priority of our administration to recognize and honor the excellence of ten outstanding barangays who carry out their responsibilities well and with honesty.]

He said the program also empowers and recognizes the vital role of barangays which is the basic unit of government in the delivery of government services.

Adiong said the top 10 barangays were selected based on the presence of working elected and appointed barangay officials, the presence of government centers and facilities, the availability of mandated plans, good governance, environmental protection and sanitation efforts, economic activities, and financial management.

"Bagama't sampu lang ang hihirangin natin ako ay umaasa na magsilbing inspirasyon ito sa lahat ng barangays upang itaas nila ang antas ng pamumuno at paglilingkod," he said.

[Although we will only award ten, I hope that this will serve as an inspiration to all barangays to raise their level of leadership and service.]

PLGU Lanao del Sur recognized 10 outstanding BOMBIT barangays

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Ten barangays here in the province received recognition under the Building Opportunities for a Meaningful Bangsamoro Inclusive Town (BOMBIT) Program of the provincial government of Lanao del Sur.

The awardees were selected based on the presence of working elected and appointed barangay officials, the presence of government centers and facilities, the availability of mandated plans, good governance, environmental protection and sanitation efforts, economic activities, and financial management.

The barangays that were hailed as BOMBIT Program awardees for this year are Bantayao Poblacion in Lumba Bayabao town, Botod in Maguing town, Bubong in Saguiaran town, Cawayan Kalaw in Marantao town, Kasanayan in Kapai town, Manila Group in Wao town, Moriatao Lokus a Datu in Taraka town, Rantian in Ditsaan-Ramain town, and Tambo in Madamba town. 

Each barangay received a plaque of recognition and P20,000 cash prize during the awarding ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol Gym on Friday, December 16.

The awarding was attended by Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. who commended the exemplary performance of the awardees citing them as "best of the best" among the 1,159 barangays in the province.

He told the awardees that they should not only be happy with the recognition but also with the positive change they brought to their respective communities.

The BOMBIT program was conceptualized in 2019 to search for functional barangays in the province. Since its launch, the program has become the barometer of good governance of barangay local government units. 

The first batch awardees were Barangays Cebuani Group in Wao town, Francfort in Amai Manabilang town, Matalin in Malabang town, Radapan Poblacion in Piagapo town, Salaman in Kapatagan town, and Talub in Tamparan town.

"Every three years ay nagbibigay tayo ng mga proyekto sa mga barangays na magiging pundasyon ng mga LGUs [every three years we give projects to barangays that will serve as the foundation of LGUs]," Governor Adiong said.
