MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr commended Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. for coming up with the Building Opportunities for a Meaningful Bangsamoro Inclusive Town (BOMBIT) Program.
He said the program has raised the standard of public service in Lanao del Sur.
Abalos expressed his praise during the awarding ceremony for the second batch of BOMBIT Program awardees held at the provincial capitol gym on Friday, December 16.
"Ako ay natutuwa dahil si Governor Adiong ay nagkaroon ng BOMBIT program...This is in accordance with the principles of transparency, accountability and performance," he said.
The DILG Secretary also underscored the impact of the program on the kind of leadership and service for the citizens of the province.
"Because of this BOMBIT award, there will be a change. Change na hindi nakikita ngunit nararamdaman. It is the change about leadership, it is raising the standard of excellence in leadership in each and every barangay in the very grassroots. At yan ang mararamdaman ng lahat ng sinasakupan - ang mga mamamayan dito," Abalos further said.

The BOMBIT awardees for the second batch received a plaque of recognition and P20,000 cash prize plus an infrastructure project needed in the barangay.
The 10 awardees are barangays are Bantayao Poblacion in the municipality of Lumba Bayabao, Botod in Maguing, Bubong in Saguiaran, Cawayan Kalaw in Marantao, Kasanayan in Kapai, Manila Group in Wao, Moriatao Lokus a Datu in Taraka, Rantian in Ditsaan-Ramain, and Tambo in Madamba.
