MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, Oct. 1 (PIA) --- The Department of Public Works and Highways in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DPWH-ARMM) emerged again as this year’s overall champion among agencies in the region during the friendship games in celebration of the 113th Philippine Civil Service anniversary.
The agency garnered the highest accumulated points given its lead in almost all events.
The Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA) and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) tied in the 1st runner up with either agency garnering 60.5 percents.
Officials and employees of DPWH-ARMM including the audience were in high spirit during the awarding ceremony Thursday, September 26, in Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex inside the ARMM compound, cheering: “Hindi lang pang-infra, pang-sports pa!”
According to DPWH-ARMM Secretary Emil Sadain, their victory depict the dedication and morale of the agency’s workers.
DPWH-ARMM was also the overall champion in last year’s inter-agency games.
Earlier in the week, ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) issued separate commendations lauding DPWH-ARMM and Sadain for the prudent utilization of the agency’s 2012 generated savings. (JoHenry/BPI-ARMM)
