To address the needs of poor and marginalized families in the province, Vice President Leni Robredo led the launching of the program Angat Buhay Partnership Against Poverty in Lanao del Sur on Tuesday, March 21.
Angat Buhay aims to address poverty in identified areas through convergence with private companies and other development partners.
Sixteen municipalities in the province were identified as pilot beneficiaries of the program based on poverty indicators as well as capacity and willingness of the local government unit to engage with development partners.
Poverty indicators include those with the highest poverty incidences and those greatly disadavantaged due to conflict situation, among others.
The pilot municipalities are Balabagan, Binidayan, Buadipuso-Buntong, Bubong, Kapai, Lumbatan, Lumbayanague, Maguing, Malabang, Piagapo, Picong, Pualas, Saguiaran, Sultan Dumalondong, Tubaran and Wao.
Angat Buhay also seeks to complement the 9-point agenda of the provincial government and will focus on four areas: agri-fisheries, health and nutrition, solar electrification, and education. (APB/PIA-10)
