MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, April 16 (PIA) --- Three barangays were adjudged as the top cleanest, greenest and safest villages from among the 96 barangays here.
Spearheaded by the city government in partnership with the 103rd Infantry Brigade (103Bde), Philippine Army, the awarding highlighted the simple but colorful 31st anniversary celebration of the city last Thursday, April 14.
Aside from the honor and prestige of being the cleanest, greenest and safest barangays, the top three villages namely Raya Madaya I, Lumbaca Toros and Lilod Madaya, they also received trophies and cash prizes amounting to P25,000, P10,000 and P5,000, respectively.
Ten (10) Green T-shirts with the print “My Barangay is the Safest and Cleanest Barangay in the City” was also given to Raya Madaya I.
Col. Daniel Lucero, Commander of 103Bde, thanked the barangays and the anonymous donors and judges for supporting the initiative to maintain a clean and safe environment in the city.
He also challenged all barangay leaders to sustain their cleaning and greening efforts and to inculcate on their constituents, the importance of living in a safe and clean environment. (Apipa Bagumbaran/PIA-10)
