MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, April 22 (PIA) --- To inspire Muslim women to excel despite limitations posed by their culture, the Philippine Muslim Women Council (PMWC) has conducted a search for the Gawad Ulirang Ina Awards at Manican Hall, Bangon, this city, yesterday, April 21.
A confederation of 39 Muslim women non-government organizations (NGO) in the country, PMWC recognized the commendable achievements of fellow Muslim women who have remarkably balanced career and family with integrity.
During the occasion, Raida Maglangit, former town mayor of Kapatagan, Lanao del Sur and now a commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), administered into office the following:PMWC officers: Dr. Padoman G. Paporo, President, Dr. Pesigue C. Tomawis, Internal Vice President, Dr. Hafisa Aida M. Macadaag, External Vice President, Hadja Nabihah Noni L. Lao, Secretary, Bai Soraya Zaalica Pangcoga-Yusoph, Treasurer and Dr. Amina Sarip, Press Relations Officer.
Board of Directors are Bai Omera Dianalan-Lucman, Chairperson, Dr. Hameedah Erlinda Ola-Casan, Vice Chairman and Bai Aleah Marabur, Secretary and Samira Gutoc, Engr. Tita Suib, Bai Raifah Sani Rakiin-Adiong, Bai Putri Norhata Dimarunsing Macatbar-Alonto, Professor Marlene Tamano, Hadja Al-Nahar Lazo and Bai Matabay Diamad as members.
