MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, March 01 (PIA) --- The local chief executive of the Ganassi town underscored the urgent need for multi-sectoral cooperation to address peace and order concerns in the said municipality.
Mayor Al-Rashid Macapodi sounded the call during the Multi-Sectoral Peace Forum held recently at the Ganassi Municipal Gymnasium.
He said peace and stability can be achieved with the unity and collaboration of all the stakeholders coming from the different sectors.
The peace forum was aimed at identifying issues, challenges, and initiatives relating to peace and stability towards making Ganassi a safer place to live-in.
The peace forum was graced by Lt.Col. Ceasar Marlon Yadao, commanding officer of the 51st Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army (PA) who briefed the participants on the salient features of the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP), otherwise known as the ‘Oplan Bayanihan’ and Agent Feliciano Alejandro Serino II of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) who tackled the agency’s drug awareness program.
Other guest speakers were Atty Paisal Sani, provincial director of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Forester Abdulgaffur Casim of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) who discussed good governance and environmental protection, respectively.
