MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, Jan. 11 (PIA) --- Expectant
mothers may now avail of the services like Normal Spontaneous Delivery (NSD),
Maternity Care Package and other Philhealth maternity benefits at the
Provincial Capitol with the upgrading of the provincial government’s health
clinic to a birthing center on December 10, 2015.
Dr. Alinader Minalang, head of the
Integrated Provincial Health Office, along with his assistant, Dr. Shalimar
Sani-Rakiin, handed the instruments and devices to be used in the birthing
center to Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr. through his medical
officers, Dr. Mangoda Dima, Dr. Alejandrito S. Descallar and Dr. Imelda
Gandamra-Taib.
Aside from maternal care, the center has outpatient,
pediatric and dental services.
It also offers free laboratory,
X-ray, ultrasound, and free medicines to indigent patients.
Underscoring the commitment of the provincial government of
Lanao del Sur to provide quality health care to its constituents, governor
Adiong said the opening of the birthing clinic will enable expectant mothers to
have access to essential health services that will ensure their well-being and
