MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, Jan. 18 (PIA) --- The
municipality of Tamparan received a grant of P3 million from the Spanish
government through the Office of the Presidential Assistant on the Peace
Process (OPAPP) for the rehabilitation of the town's public market.
The check was turned-over by OPAPP Assistant Secretary
Jennifer S. Oreta to Tamparan Mayor Sultan Topaan Disomimba today, January
18, at the Governor’s Office Executive Conference Room, Provincial Capitol
Compound, Marawi city.
Also present during the turnover ceremony
were Provincial Administrator Mocamad M. Raki-in, Provincial Accountant
Norhana Sumandar and Provincial Engineer Sirad Laut.
Provincial Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr., who
was on official travel, was happy to accommodate the turnover ceremony in his
office.
In a phone patch interview, Adiong said constituents in
Tamparan, such as the farmers, fishermen and the entire community, would
benefit from a rehabilitated public market.
“Our farmers and fishermen would have a place accessible and
conducive for them to sell their products while the community would be assured
of purchasing fresh agricultural product, he added.” (Ahmad Nour-al-dinn A.
