MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, Feb. 17 (PIA) – Accredited farmers’ cooperatives in the province received farming machineries, hybrid rice seeds, and Urea fertilizers from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAF-ARMM) to increase their productivity.
These include four farm tractors with complete accessories, 13 floating tillers, 10 cassava graters with presser, four corn shellers, one hammer mill, five corn planters, 3,500 bags of hybrid rice seeds, and 7,000 bags of Urea fertilizers.
The farming interventions were distributed by ARMM Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, DAF-ARMM Regional Secretary Alexander G. Alonto, Jr., Provincial Governor Mamintal A. Adiong Jr., and DAF Provincial Director Pangalian A. Balindong, Jr. on Monday, February 16, at the Provincial Capitol Compound, this city.
Adiong said it is imperative to develop farmlands in the province as he wants Lanao del Sur to be the future producer and supplier of agricultural crops in Mindanao.
Hataman, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III for all the programs and projects he brought down to ARMM to ensure the development and progress of the region. (Ahmad Nour-al-dinn A Tamano/PIA-10)
