Various government agencies offering services to the Marawi citizenry participated in the August 8 to 11 celebration.
Among the participants were the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MTIT), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Marawi City Health Office (CHO), among others.
GSIS-Iligan Staff Officer Noralyn Dalupang-Datu expressed gratitude for their office's participation in the Charter Day Fair, which allowed employees to clarify questions about GSIS membership and other program packages for members.
Those who accessed the services were also grateful as it helped them to avail of services in one location.
"Sobrang malaking tulong ito kasi nakasave rin kami ng pamasahe and time kesa pupunta pa kami sa [GSIS] Iligan. Nakasave kami sa mga gastusin. Salamat dito talaga sa programa ng Marawi Local Government dito sa Kalilang 2023," said Sittiwaida R. Saadoddin, a resident of barangay Lokus a Datu.
(This is a great help because we also saved fare and time from going to [GSIS] Iligan. We reduced costs. Thanks to the Marawi Local Government for offering this program here in Kalilang 2023.)
Another resident was happy with the free health services she benefited from at the government fair.
"Napakalaking tulong ito kasi free yung consultation and check-up. So nawala narin yung burden ng mga tao in terms of financial. Instead na pumunta sila sa hospital for consultation and magbabayad pa, dito ay libre na," said Sittie Farmidah Pamnagun.
(This is a great help because the consultation and check-up are free. So, the financial burden on the individuals has been alleviated. Instead of them going to the hospital for consultation and paying more, here, it is free.) (JND/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
