(PIA) --- The regional government of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(ARMM) is once again looking for a new set of scholars under its scholarship
project.
Dubbed “Iskolar” Para sa Pagbabago, Para
sa Bangsamoro, the project aims to help poor but academically-qualified
students from across Muslim Mindanao.
To qualify, each applicant must be a
Filipino citizen; of good moral character; a high school graduate or graduating
high school student for year school year 2013-2014 or a student currently
enrolled for Medicine or Master’s Degree in Education or Public Administration;
a resident of ARMM, and must not be a recipient of any government scholarship
grant or financial assistance.
Also, the applicant must not be not
more than 30 years old at the time of application, except those taking Medicine
and Master Degree courses, and his/her parents or guardians’ combined gross
annual income does not exceed P200,000.
Qualified scholars, particularly high
school graduates, can enroll on the following priority fields: information
technology, agriculture and related field, teacher education, science and math,
health and sciences, engineering, arts and humanities, atmospheric science, and
environmental science.
Interested applicants may submit filled-up
application form; any proof that he/she is enrolled such as Form 138,
certificate of enrolment, certificate of registration from school, or list of
grades for the last school year attended; any proof of income of
parents/guardian or the applicant; certificate of good moral character; valid
ID of student or applicant; barangay certificate of residency with attached
voter’s ID or voter’s certificate of the applicant or his/her parent/guardian to the nearest School Divisions Office or send via
mail to the Office of the Regional Governor, 2nd Floor ORG
Building, ORG Compound, Gov. Guttierez Avenue, Cotabato City.
Applicants from Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi may
also submit at the Port Manager’s Office while Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur
applicants may likewise submit at the CHED-ARMM Office.
The deadline of application is January 30 and
qualified applicants will take an examination on February 1-28.
