Gov’t wants ‘unceasing’ tie with World Vision PH

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Witnessing the numerous positive impacts effected in every targeted community, the city government of Marawi and even the Bangsamoro region firmly conveyed their desire to maintain their partnership with the World Vision Philippines which has been aiding localities since the eruption of the infamous warfare in 2017.

The organization has been implementing various projects from its Urban Child Protection Project (UCPP) to Urban Child Protection and Participation Project (UCPPP) Year 1.

Its most recent effort on Wednesday, November 9, was the culmination of its technical and vocational education training for the 25 out-of-school youths (OSYs) with the help of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education - Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) and Provincial/City Manpower Development Center (PCMDC).

PCMDC Center Administrator Insanoray Macapaar expressed in her relayed message that they were glad to have partnered with World Vision Philippines as she highlighted how their place was fortunate to have the organization supporting their people, especially in uplifting the economic lives of the youth and the entire populace.

As such, she hoped to keep their relationship with the commitment of extending aid whenever necessary.

“Hoping that this is not the last of the friendship and partnership. Anytime World Vision needs support, we are always ready to support them in all their advocacies,” said Macapaar.

Moreover, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Officer-in-Charge Cabsaran Pacasum Jr. expressed his most profound gratitude to World Vision for initiating an intervention for their constituents from the less affected area (LAA).

He underlined that while the infamous siege in 2017 affected those coming from ground zero, it could not be denied that the tragic event has also intensely changed the way of life in their city, including those who were not from the most affected area (MAA).

“This is entirely the reason why this intervention could not be more fitting to our beneficiaries, especially that livelihood has become scarce after the siege. This project is really something that could positively change the lives of our constituents and with this, we are continuously thankful to World Vision,” said Pacasum.

Meanwhile, MBHTE-TESD Lanao del Sur Provincial Office Planning and Administrative Officer Esmael Capampangan shared that his office and the World Vision Philippines have already entered into a memorandum of agreement which stipulated that the latter would select their beneficiaries while his office would spearhead the skills training alongside the PCMDC as the training center.

He attested that forging a partnership with World Vision Philippines has been a fruitful one, stressing that the organization is one of the excellent performing NGOs that tapped them to extend the provision of skills training.

“Hindi masyado marami ang manpower namin [Our manpower is not enough] to cater to everyone so we need some partners to act on behalf of the MBHTE-TESD at ma-address lahat ng issues and concerns ng ating mga kababayan [and to address all the issues and concerns of our fellowmen],” said Capampangan.

Responding to the clamor, World Vision Philippines guaranteed that it would continue its project implementation as it introduces the UCPPP Year 2. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
