Tourism advocates in LDS happy to train on promotional video dev’t

Participants who attended the most recent workshop offered by the Lanao del Sur Provincial Tourism, Culture and Arts Office (PTCAO) for the development of promotional videos were delighted to have obtained new learning that they could use as new tourism advocates.

The said training lasted for three days and was participated by at least 28 individuals.

Mindanao State University (MSU)-Main Campus Staff Nor-anisha Schaharazhed Guro stressed that it was a privilege to have joined the activity.

She stated that she realized that making promotional materials would never be a walk in the park and that they would need to undergo a process to successfully develop one.

“It takes time, patience, brainstorming, and ideas from different types of people para makagawa ng (to make an) effective campaign,” said Guro.

Balindong Local Youth Development Officer Al Sudairy Sarip was also grateful to have been accepted as one of the partakers, saying that although he has been a freelance filmmaker, there were still additional lessons he garnered such as how to craft a director’s treatment and perfect storyboard.

“Ang mga natutunan ko dito ay magagamit ko upang mas mapaganda ang future outputs ko kasi mas alam ko na kung paano ko sisimulan at tatapusin ang video, at kung anu-ano ang mga bagay na dapat gawin sa pre at post-production,” he said.

(What I learned here can be used to make my future output better because I am already more knowledgeable on how to start and end a video, and what to do during the pre and post-production.)

On the other hand, Ewatone Youth Organization Member Maguidala-Usman Bedar II attested that the three-day workshop was interactive.

He underlined that through this, the provincial government of Lanao del Sur was able to show how concerned it is about boosting its economy by stepping up its tourism industry.

Bedar admitted that he still has to enhance his skills in making promotional videos but he was confident that he already exerted enough in the conceptualization process.

“I never imagined that I would do something that an advertising company does. There is still much room for improvement but I know that I already have contributions to come up with a very good idea [for a promotional video],” he said. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
