Looking back on the evident advancement of the youth sector in the province, the provincial government of Lanao del Sur and its entire constituency were jubilant to stress the exemplary performance displayed by the past Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation administration for its five years of governing.
Within this period, SK Federation President Jamil Faisal “Jeff” Adiong has led the youth sector to a better condition under his move ‘Boses ng Kabataang Meranaw’ (Voice of Meranaw Youth).
Lanao del Sur Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid Adiong attested to this, signifying how proactive and productive the youth leader had been.
He conveyed that the accomplishments achieved by young Adiong were not just the legacy of his office but also the entire provincial government.
Accordingly, the previous governance of the SK Federation was marked with appropriate interventions for their fellow Meranaw youths.
“Ang kanyang mga programa ay ideal, napapanahon at naaayon. Hindi ito makakalimutan dahil maliban sa nakatatak ito sa atin, siniguro niyang sustainable ito,” said Vice Governor Adiong.
(His programs were ideal, timely and relevant. We cannot forget these because aside from these being unforgettable, he made sure that these are sustainable.)
Raheemah Peace Weavers Producer Cooperative Sittie Aishah Baicon Cayongcat Nuska also testified to this quality of former SK Federation President Adiong.
She shared that she knew this young officer as someone who gave importance to the contribution of youth to government processes.
Therefore, Nuska emphasized the importance of preserving and nurturing his efforts.
"Jeff Adiong has consistently ensured that everyone is consulted and can participate in major office undertakings. Through this, we have observed the necessary continuation of his efforts,” she said.
While the SK Federation acclaimed the triumphs it made in the past years, it likewise garnered persisting support from its various partner stakeholders.
“We felt the commitment and passion in promoting the voices of Meranaw youth. With this, we will continue to support in advancing its advocacy. We are hoping and rooting for a louder ‘Boses ng Kabataang Meranaw’ (Voice of Meranaw Youth),” said Save the Children Philippines Gender and Child Protection Officer Mary Lou Carnable.
With the previous term coming to an end, a new SK Federation administration was recognized, with Abdulmalik Adiong III as president. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
