MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur, May 20 (PIA) --- The Department of Agrarian Reform in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAR-ARMM) will hold a dialogue with agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the province to tackle agrarian reform issues.
The ARB Provincial Conference is set to be held on May 21, at the Provincial Capitol Gym, this city.
Engr. Mesug P. Unda, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARO) II, said the conference aims to consult ARBs on their problems and concerns regarding agrarian reform programs and projects in the province.
Various subprojects costing around P1.013 billion are currently being implemented in 16 municipalities in the province under the Agrarian Reform Community Project II, Engr. Unda said.
The subprojects include farm to market roads, multi-purpose buildings, potable water system, and day care and health centers, among others.
In addition, Engr. Unda said the confab will also serve as a venue to assess the needs of the ARBs particularly on increasing their productivity level and in developing agrarian reform communities
DAR-ARMM Secretary Amihilda Sangcopan and ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman are expected to grace the event which is anchored on the theme “Dalisay na Repormang Pansakahan Tungo sa Kanayunan Para sa Kapayapaan.”
The ARB Provincial Conference is part of the preparations for the ARMM agrarian reform congress tentatively scheduled in June, this year. (APB/PIA-10)
