Islamic City of Marawi (05 July) --- Newly elected and re-elected officials in Lanao del Sur took their oath of office yesterday, July 4, at the Provincial Capitol Gym, this city.
Judge Wenida M. Papandayan administered the mass oath-taking lead by the re-elected Governor Mamintal ‘Bombit’ Alonto Adiong Jr.
Among those who took their oaths were 2nd District Congressman Pangalian Balindong, Vice Governor Arsad Marohombsar, and the municipal mayors, vice mayors, and councilors of the 39 towns in Lanao del Sur.
Board members Alexander Alonto Jr., Ashary Diron, Musa Racman, Macapandi Mindalano, Annouar Romurus Abdul Rauf, Amer-Oden Balindong, Abdul Harris Macacua, and Soraida Macapodi were also sworn into office.
In his inaugural speech, Governor Adiong expressed gratitude for giving him the opportunity to serve the province once again. He said he would continue to pursue peace and development programs to uplift the lives of his constituents.
The mass-oath taking ceremony also coincided with the celebration of the 51st Araw ng Lanao del Sur.
The twin celebration, attended by heads of national line agencies, barangay officials, teachers, family members of the elected officials, well-wishers, as well as provincial government employees, was graced by Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) chair Jesus Dureza.
