Gov’t breaks ground for motor pool facility in Marawi

Felix Castro Jr., Mayor Majul Gandamra and National Housing Authority - Marawi Project Management Office head Al-Khwarizmi Indanan lead the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the motor pool facility inside the City's most affected area. MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--A motor pool facility is slated to rise in this City to provide maintenance of ground vehicles and equipment which will be used to sustain the infrastructure projects inside the most affected area (MAA).

National Housing Authority - Marawi Project Management Office head and acting regional manager of NHA Region 9 and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Al-Khwarizmi Indanan, hoped that through the project, the City will be restored to its glory. 

“This, the NHA hopes will bring back the glory that was Marawi City and I think Marawi City has already risen and it is up to the people of Marawi to live up to the challenge that Task Force Bangon Marawi has initiated,” he said. 

The project includes equipment storage, security office, toilet rooms, lobby, parking area, training room, among others. 

With its 1,640.32 square meters floor area, the facility can accommodate 4x4 pick-up response vehicles, ambulances, speed boats with trailers, dump trucks, bulldozers, vectors, and coasters.  

The project is funded through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management – Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program (NDRRM-MRRP).
