More Marawi rehab infra projects underway

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--Aiming to bring significant progress in this city, more infrastructure projects implemented by government-line agencies under Task Force Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) are underway. 


“Most projects will be completed by June 30, 2022. But of course, there are some projects that will have to be completed by the end of the year. But I am confident that all these projects maybe 90 to 95% will be completed but a few projects will continue,” said TFBM chairperson Sec. Eduardo del Rosario. 


Inside the most affected area (MAA), the construction of the Traffic Command Center, Grand Padian Market with an ice plant, Rizal Park, Marawi Museum, and School of Living Traditions are now in the final stages of completion.


A four-story school building will also be completed soon while the nine others are now in various stages of completion. 


Moreover, the construction for the road networks with solar lamps and underground utilities; consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary roads, hospital, Central Fire Station, Sarimanok Sports Stadium, Marawi City Convention Center, and Lake Lanao Promenade are in full blast. 


Repair and reconstruction work for Ramadhan Mosque, Macaorao Mosque, Dansalan Bato Mosque, and Bubong Lilod Madaya Mosque are ongoing. 


The construction of a sanitary landfill facility, Salintubig Project, New Marawi City Jail, Marawi City Police Station, Torogan, Marawi Incident Command Center, 20 MVA Gadongan Power Substation are also underway. 


To date, 100 families are now living in Hadiya Village, 120 in Darussalam Village, 150 in Pamayandeg Sa Ranaw Residences at Dansalan Phase 1 and 2 and 150 in Phases 3 and 4. Furthermore, more housing units in Barangays Patani, Kilala and Mipantao Gadongan are being constructed. 


TFBM recently inaugurated the newly-constructed Barangay Lilod Madaya complex and the newly-rehabilitated Agus 3 bridge also known as the Pumping Bridge. Seventeen more barangay complexes are slated to be completed soon. A motor pool facility is also set to rise in the City. (LELA/ PIA Lanao del Sur)
