MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--As the newly constructed Lilod Madaya barangay complex has been finally turned over to its rightful recipients, a barangay chief executive conveyed optimism that the city will finally be restored soon.
“Sa pagtatalaga ng tungkulin sa ating bagong opisina, tayong lahat ay magsilbing saksi sa ating bagong pagbangon mula sa trahedyang naganap noong 2017 [In the installment of the responsibility in our new office, let us all serve as witnesses to the new rise from the tragedy that transpired in 2017],” said Lilod Madaya Barangay Chairman Al-Touhamy Ampuan during the ceremonial inauguration of the barangay complex.
He added that the building of the barangay facility depicts a positive trust and strong linkage between the national and local government.
With the attainment of the project intended for his village, Ampuan certified that together with its partners, the barangay makes sure that it is rightfully rendering service for the good of its constituents.
“Hanggang ngayon, tayo pa rin ay patuloy na nagtatrabaho at nagsisikap para sa taumbayan [Until now, we are still working on and striving for the public],” he said.
With funds from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management - Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program, the barangay complex was completed with a health center and three rooms for madrasah. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
