MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur—The management of Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) is eyeing to implement a new requirement for hospital visitors and watchers.

APMC chief-of-hospital Dr. Shalimar Rakiin said starting December 2, watchers and visitors to inpatient areas will need to show their vaccination cards to enter the hospital.

“I will be releasing a guideline sa [in our] hospital namin na [that] we will not allow watchers and visitors to transact and get inside the premises of APMC if they cannot show us their vaccination card. This is our way of protecting our patients,” she disclosed during the Command Conference and Orientation on Bayanihan Bakunahan on Tuesday, November 23.

Rakiin said this requirement aligns with the order of the Health Department to protect patients and is in support of the national vaccination guidelines that everybody should be vaccinated.

“We are going to advocate this so that yung mga tao should start being vaccinated kasi di mo alam kailan magkakasakit yung pamilya mo. For the patients, they can be admitted kasi before makapasok sinuswab naman talaga kung negative or positive,” she said.

To bolster efforts for the Bayanihan Bakunahan, Rakiin said APMC will be one of the vaccination centers in the province for the three-day national vaccination drive. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur)
