LDS-I Schools Division: IRW-PH eases education delivery

With the assistance provided by the Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) - Philippines, the Schools Division of Lanao del Sur-I feels relief from the struggles it has been suffering in its delivery of quality education to the learners due to certain circumstances. MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--With the children and parents in the province of Lanao del Sur seen to be aided, the Schools Division of Lanao del Sur-I conveyed that the Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) - Philippines is indeed an international non-government organization (NGO) that gives relief to struggles currently encountered particularly in the delivery of education here. 

Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Sahanee Sumagayan shared they went through difficulty in carrying out their mission due to limited resources.

Following this, the IRW - Philippines delivered Monday, November 22, turned over educational equipment and schools support to the division which Sumagayan is grateful for as their sworn duty to their learners is eased.

“For a long time of struggling and limited resources, ito na, buong pusong binibigay ng Islamic Relief… Taus-puso naming tinatanggap itong mga blessing. Nagpapasalamat kami dahil napansin ninyo ang aming pangangailangan,” she said. 

[For a long time of struggling and limited resources, here it is, the Islamic Relief is wholeheartedly giving it… We are sincerely receiving these blessings. We are thankful because you paid attention to our needs.]

Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Mombao Abdul affirmed such testimony as she likewise detailed how they survived the challenge they faced. 

“I believe that manning an organization with limited financial resources is so difficult but because of our dedication and passion for utmost service, and leadership [and] support of some officials and stakeholders who have a big heart in education, isa na dito ang [one of which is the] Islamic Relief, nakita natin ngayon [we are seeing it now],” she said as she presented the equipment from the organization. 

Abdul detailed that during the initial visit of the IRW-Philippines in their office, she was optimistic with its commitment to bring in benefits that will hopefully transform their division into a world-class one.

She added that from thereon, the organization has already conducted sponsored series of training and provided other more assistance such as madrasah education in Toril.

With these services of the IRW-Philippines for the Schools Division of Lanao del Sur-I, Abdul urged her fellow educators to continue their passion in delivering quality education to their learners.

“Let us constantly work as a team, and continue disseminating and multiplying the principle of collaboration, coordination, and dedication to ensure that quality and accessible education to all children will be achieved. We are so grateful enough that Islamic Relief is with us now,” she said.

The provision of educational equipment and school support of the IRW-Philippines is under its Sustaining Transformative and Resilient Initiatives in Vulnerable Communities (STRIVEC) Project, a three-year effort now on its second year and funded by the IRW-Canada. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
