MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--Internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are now staying at Dulay Proper Transitory Shelter in Brgy. Dulay Proper here showed gratefulness to the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) for the peace interventions it delivered to the place.
Resident Norhanissah Abdullah cited how beneficial the peace sessions the government agency has conducted in their community. She said their youths who became participants were transformed into being positively driven to go for their better future through upholding peace.
“Maraming salamat kasi masaya ang mga bata. Talagang hindi kami nakalimutan ng OPAPRU dito sa Dulay Proper. Talagang nakatulong ito sa amin. Talagang ang mga bata ay nainspired at masaya sila… Hindi namin malilimutan ang tulong ng OPAPRU,” said Abdullah.
[Thank you because you made our children happy. We, in the Dulay Proper, are really not forgotten by the OPAPRU. This is a big help to us. The kids are really inspired and happy… We will really not forget the help of the OPAPRU.]
Another IDP Omar Mondas conveyed his gratitude to the government agency for the various aid it extended to his place.
“Maganda ang OPAPRU dahil nakatulong sa amin… Nakatulong naman,” he said.
[The OPAPRU is nice because it helped us… It is really helpful.]
With the enjoyed help from the OPAPRU, IDPs reiterate their call for continued support as they emphasized that they would always need a helping hand considering their unwavering concerns, including the issue of water, livelihood, and transportation.
"Huwag kayong magsawa. Palagi niyong isipin kami na IDPs [do not get tired. Always think of us, IDPs],” said Abdullah
