MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--With the job opportunities delivered exclusively for senior high school graduates here, applicants conveyed their gratitude to the Task Force Bangon Marawi, the city government and their partners for giving them the chance to seek employment, given that others cannot proceed yet to college.
Aslia Casain who graduated from Lake Lanao National High School shared that she went to the job fair as she was invited by her teachers who wanted to give them employment opportunities.
Accordingly, they may apply especially if they cannot take a college program yet in the next opening of the school year.
“Nag-try kami mag-apply dito baka sakaling [matanggap]. Pwede kami maging working students para makatulong sa pamilya… Masaya kasi nakakatulong sila sa mga mahihirap, sa mga estudyante na kailangan ng trabaho,” said Casain.
[We tried to apply hoping [that we will be accepted]. We can be working students so that we can help our family… This is fun because they are able to help those poor, those students who are in need of a job.]
Another Lake Lanao National High School graduate Mohammad Alyassen likewise expressed his gratitude for the spearheaded job fair as he underscored that through this initiative, students are encouraged to experience how to hustle in life as a working citizen.
“Napakalaking tulong ito para sa amin… First time ko ito maexperience. Para sa mga kapwa estudyante ko, kung ako sa inyo, makilahok na kayo sa Kawiyagan ng ating gobyerno para mas lumalim pa iyong kaalaman natin,” he said.
[This is a big help to us… It is my first time to experience this. To my fellow students, if I were you, you join the Kawiyagan of our government to deepen your knowledge.]
Casain and Alyasses were just two of the 50 graduates expected to seek employment in the held job fair during the three day Kawiyagan of the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), city government and partner organizations from March 27 to 29 this year. Target applicants were expected to be coming from Marawi City National High School, Angoyao National High School and Lake Lanao National High School. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
