MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--With the looming transition to another governance at the end of June this year, internally displaced persons (IDPs) here lauded the existence of Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario as he stood as the chief of the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM).
In a video message, Mipaga Barangay Chairwoman Farmidah Macabando remembered that during the post-siege, she had already seen Del Rosario striving much for the people of the city.
As part of the exerted effort, she shared that her barangay was even given the opportune moment to have a madrasah to house their young students called morits.
As such, Macabando thanked Del Rosario for all the interventions that her barangay benefited.
[Thank you so much for the unwavering and untiring effort so that our beloved Marawi can rise again. I hope you are still there when the residents return to ground zero.]
Hadiya Village Homeowners Association President Abdul Jalil Madid conveyed his gratitude to Del Rosario on behalf of the residents now situated in permanent shelters.
He said they are fully aware that despite the existence of other private partners such as the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat) and the government of Japan which partnered in the foundation of their village, there were still struggles the TFBM had to go through for the construction of habitats for the affected residents and the task force still strived to provide what had to be provided, thus, their gratefulness, especially to its chief.
We are really thankful for the support given to the IDPs, especially here in permanent shelters. We know how hard it was for us to have permanent shelters because of the challenges. Although it was like that still, they were there to help.]
On the other hand, Brgy. Sabala Manao Proper’s Former Chairman Sultan Mamintal Paporo also extended his delightfulness to Del Rosario for the rehabilitation program that yielded a lot of infrastructures in the most affected area.
[We are thankful for all that they have done under the Marawi rehabilitation program. As of now, they have completed a lot already. We, IDPs of Marawi, are thankful.] (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur
