MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Schools here are now encouraging students to enroll for the approaching school year 2022-2023.

The Marawi City Schools Division (MCSD) has earlier bared that the next school year shall already shift to in-person learning after its compliance to the requisites set by the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF).

School administrators further assured that their additional preparations are in full swing to set up a conducive environment for their students.

“Nagcomply kami sa lahat ng guidelines ng face-to-face classes. Iyong classrooms namin, pinaayos at pinaganda… Sila ay aming iniimbitahan na ipasok at ienrol ang kanilang mga anak sa paaralan sa darating na pasukan dahil kami ay magbubukas ng face-to-face [classes],” said Sikap Elementary School Principal Norhata Binatara-Bangcola.

[We complied with the guidelines for the face-to-face classes. Our classrooms were also fixed and beautified… We are inviting them to let the learners be enrolled in the school for the upcoming school year because we will be opening face-to-face [classes].]

Meanwhile, some schools are likewise gearing up for their respective simulation exercises which shall showcase their preparedness to handle physical classes.

Tuca Boganga Elementary School Focal Person Nashiba Dirampa-Ducat shared that to control the crowd, they placed arrows along their hallways to lead students to proper entrance and exit of their school vicinity.

She added that they created a seat plan that limits each classroom to 20 students only while an isolation room for sick individuals was also established.

Ducat highlighted that they have been doing their best to be all set for the coming school year as they have also longed to teach their pupils personally, believing that this is the most effective means of learning.

“We are inviting all learners and parents to enroll na kasi magfeface-to-face [classes] na tayo, inshallah. Matuturo na natin kung ano ang dapat ituro sa mga bata. We are all excited na makita muli ang mga kasayahan ng mga bata sa loob ng classroom,” she said.

[We are inviting all learners and parents to enroll already because we will already have face-to-face classes, inshallah. We can already teach the children what should be taught. We are all excited to see the happiness of the kids inside the classroom.]

H. Hassan Memorial Elementary School Focal Person Alminah Manta, on the other hand, stated that they have constructed visiting and clinic areas as part of their own preparation.

Ensuring the health security for everyone, she then urged the parents to maintain their support to successfully welcome the new school year.

“Kami ay nananawagan na mag-enroll kayo… Sa parents, sana patuloy ninyo kaming suportahan kasi kung wala ang inyong suporta, hindi kami makakapagpatuloy sa aming pagtuturo. Sana magtulungan lang tayo,” said Manta.

[We are calling for you to enroll… To the parents, I hope that you keep supporting us because without your support, we cannot continue teaching. I hope that we all help each other.]

As of the moment, schools in the city are now open for early registration and the enrollment is seen to be closed in September this year. (CRG/10/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
