MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) is pursuing the completion of the Cooperative Livelihood and Training Center here.
CDA Board Member Asec. Datu Pendatun Disimban updated that the construction of the project would be pushed through this year.
He recalled that the groundbreaking sponsored by the Task Force Bangon Marawi was led last year with the allocated fund amounting to P25 million.
Disimban stated that they were supposed to build the infrastructure on the land allowed by the Mindanao State University to be used for 25 years but this encountered an issue with claimants asserting that their ancestors owned the same area.
With the issue still unresolved, he conveyed that they did not wait any longer as the end of this year is fast approaching.
“Ang tagal naming naghintay at hindi na namin mahintay sapagkat ang funding namin ay marerevert sa National Treasury kapag hindi namin maimplement this year,” said Disimban.
[We waited long enough but we could not wait anymore because our funding would be reverted back to the National Treasury if we could not implement it this year.]
The board member bared that it was a good thing that someone donated enough land area where the livelihood and training center can rise.
He shared that concerned parties will already sign the deed of donation to signal the start of the construction.
Such a project will also include the foundation of a hostel where cooperatives intending to host training and seminars for more than a day can have a place to stay where they will only pay for the operational fee.
“Titiyakin namin na mapapakinabangan ito ng cooperative leaders at members dito sa Lanao del Sur, and hopefully ay maging tuloy-tuloy na iyan [construction],” said Disimban.
[We will assure that this will be benefitted by the cooperative leaders and members here in Lanao del Sur, and hopefully, this [construction] will be continuous.] (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
