MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The provincial government of Lanao del Sur has committed anew its backing of women in the province as it promised to intensify the fulfillment of their programs inclined to such a sector.
Through the Women Summit sponsored by the Plan International Philippines in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the local government conveyed that it shall continue to provide support to the agenda of women as mentioned under the Gender and Development Code of the province.
Moreover, it stated that it shall be its policy to uphold rights of women and girls, and believe in their worth and dignity as human beings while recognizing them as full and equal partners of men in the development and nation-building.
The heading government in the province likewise posted that with its aim of promoting the welfare of women, enhancing their full potential, and uplifting their status and improving the quality of their lives, it strives to pursue and implement gender-responsive development strategies to integrate gender support systems, considering the rights of the sector to economic survival and political participation.
