Marawi health officials express joy over World Vision’s health support

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Health officials of the city here were gratified to have received another batch of nutrition equipment from the World Vision Philippines Monday, October 3.

Such was one of the initiatives pushed by the humanitarian organization to realize better health services for the residents and children of the city.

City Councilor Dr. Princess Pala Amera Gandamra underscored that this manifested the organization’s commitment to journeying with them as they heal from the traumatic warfare in 2017.

“Kami ay nagagalak na makatanggap ng mga ganitong health kits galing sa World Vision. Kami ay tuwang-tuwang na kasama namin sila sa patuloy na pagbangon ng Marawi City,” she said.

[We are happy to get these health kits from World Vision. We are very happy that they are with us in the continuous recovery of Marawi City.]

Gandamra, who also chairs the city council’s Committee on Health, stated that the equipment they obtained would help in the programs, especially in the fight against malnutrition and the delivery of more health services to barangays in the city.

She also hoped that their collaboration with the World Vision Philippines would last and that additional programs would still be implemented in the future.

On the other hand, City Health Officer Dr. Ali Dalidig extended his profound thanks to World Vision Philippines for helping them as they keep on serving the people of the city, especially in the health aspect.

He affirmed that since the eruption of the siege here in 2017, they have already been partners with the said organization in addressing the health needs of the communities.

Dalidig believed that if it were not for the help of their partners, there would be no progress in their place.

“Nasa stage of pagbangon na tayo. We believe na nalampasan natin iyon. Kami dito sa City Health Office ay nagpapasalamat sa tuloy-tuloy na suporta ng ating implementing partner na World Vision. Sila ay nagbibigay lakas sa amin,” he said.

[We are already in the stage of recovery. We believe we can go through it. We, in the City Health Office, are thankful for the continuous support of our implementing partner, World Vision. They give us strength.]

The World Vision posted that the recent handover of nutrition equipment was under its Urban Child Protection and Participation Project which was extended until September 30 next year. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
