MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--With the rehabilitation of the siege-stricken city nearly approaching its completion already, the government maintained its assurance that it would continue to support the rehabilitation program until the locality would gain back its glory and its people would independently stand back once again.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Sec. Jose Rizalino Acuzar who also heads the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) guaranteed that the government would keep on working for the benefit of the city.

He appealed as well for unity to realize their goal which is healing for every affected individual.

“Aming gagawin ang lahat ng aming makakaya upang sa wakas ay makamit ulit ng lungsod ang kanyang kinang at kaunlaran. Muli naming pinapanawagan na pag-ibayuhin, pagtutulungan at pagkakaisa. Sa inyong patuloy na suporta sa TFBM at pamahalaan, magtatagumpay tayo sa pag-akay ng Marawi patungo sa daang mapayapa at masagana,” said Acuzar.

[We will do all that we can do so that the city can finally achieve again its shine and progress. We call for perseverance, collaboration and oneness. With your continuing support to the TFBM and the government, we will succeed in guiding Marawi towards a peaceful and bountiful road.]

National Disaster, Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director and Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator Usec. Raymundo Ferrer likewise reiterated their dedication to finish the recovery efforts here, citing that the TFBM alongside its implementing agencies has already been persistent to carry out its mandate and tasks bestowed upon them.

“We affirm our commitment to continue supporting the Marawi rehabilitation effort until this glorious city is fully restored. We commend and congratulate all the agencies of the Task Force Bangon Marawi and partners involved in this endeavour in its campaign to ensure that the innocents affected by national terrorism are rehabilitated and that Marawi City is brought to a better vibrance as a peaceful and progressive community,” he said.

Meanwhile, Engr. Ansary Domado of the Bangsamoro region’s Special Committee on Marawi Rehabilitation stressed that they have already been prioritizing the rehabilitation program of the city as he mentioned that this is even part of their five flagship programs and among the 12-point priority agenda of their administration.

“We are very sensitive to the feelings of the families of the heroes. Likewise, we are also sensitive to the feelings of the orphans and widows, ang pamilya ng mga victim ng giyera [and the families of the victims of the siege]. Let us all have intentions to help them and include them in our prayers,” he said. (CRG/PIA-10 Lanao del Sur)
