Registered coops in Marawi advances in 2022

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) bared that in the previous and present year, a hiking up in the number of registered cooperatives in the country and the city here was sighted.

CDA Chairman Joseph Encabo presented that generally, the business volume of the cooperatives in the country is progressing.

He highlighted that this was a manifestation that despite the pandemic, many were still interested to venture into the cooperative movement.

“Mas maraming kooperatiba, mas maraming mga trabaho ang magegenerate. Kung mas maraming kooperatiba, mas maganda ang ating kontribusyon sa ating bansa. Kung mas maraming kooperatiba, mas kikita, gaganda at aasenso ang buhay ng ating mga kapwa Pilipino,” said Encabo.

[The more cooperatives, the more employment that will be generated. If there are more cooperatives, there will be more wonderful contributions in our country. If there are more cooperatives, there will be more income, beauty and improvement in the lives of our fellow Filipinos.]

CDA Board Member Asec. Datu Pendatun Disimban attested to this information, saying that cooperatives nowadays are indeed progressive.

However, he detailed that in the past years, the province of Lanao del Sur struggled as programs of a previous administration for cooperatives were not managed well which painted a bad image seen by the constituents.

Disimban shared that with the reasons slowly explained by the new leaders of CDA and with model cooperatives now organized, the negative perspective of the people on cooperatives is also changing slowly.

He added that notwithstanding the pandemic and the previous siege which also impacted the business sector, cooperatives still rise with their collaboration with the government.

Despite the recorded advancement, Disimban urged the cooperatives to continue upholding unity, expanding their membership, and coordinating with the government.

He also heartened them that if they would be blessed with any livelihood program and project, they must nurture this as the CDA likewise vowed to keep their support and address the thoughts of every cooperative.

“Pagyamanin natin nang sa ganoon ay mapakinabangan ng buong miyembro ng kooperatiba. Umasa kayo na patuloy namin kayong susuportahan at tutulungan sa abot ng aming makakaya. Titiyakin ko na aking irerepresent ang concerns and issues niyo sa board ng CDA nang sa ganoon ay maaksyonan agad,” said Disimban.

[Let us treasure this so that this can be benefitted by all members of the cooperative. Rest assured that we will continue supporting and helping you as long as we can. I guarantee to represent your concerns and issues in the board of the CDA so that these would be immediately addressed.] (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
