Marawi villages grateful for health kits from World Vision

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Feeling the downpour of aid for the health and wellness of the constituents here, village recipients conveyed their gratefulness to the World Vision Philippines as they acquired more nutrition equipment for their barangay health centers.

Through its Urban Child Protection and Participation Project (UCPPP), the international non-government organization delivered Monday, October 3, relevant health kits to the City Health Office here, particularly to ease the malnutrition status of Barangays Cadayonan 1 & 2, Malimono, Rapasun and Tuca Ambolong which were all recognized to be having the highest data on the stated health concern.

Cadayonan 2 Barangay Secretary Noraisa Ali was thankful for the additional resources given to them.

She stressed that these would be beneficial to their barangay as the highway near them is prone to accidents while a number of their children likewise suffer from malnutrition.

“Ito ay napakalaking tulong sa aming community at barangay kasi minsan sa highway ay may nadidisgrasya at sa barangay health center namin dinadala. Malaking tulong din kasi nalalaman namin kung ang mga kabataan sa amin ay malnourished ba o hindi. Hindi na kami nahihirapan sa mga ganoon,” said Ali who is also a barangay health worker.

[This is a big help to our community and barangay because sometimes, along our highway, others get into accidents and then taken to our barangay health center. This is also a big help because we will know if our children are malnourished or not. We will not struggle anymore.]

Ali hoped that this effort would not end and many programs would still come for their benefit.

Meanwhile, Tuca Ambolong Barangay Councilor Alaisa Dimakutamalic delivered her gratitude to the World Vision Philippines for numerous initiatives extended to her village.

She was optimistic that this support would continue for the sake of the needing communities in the city.

“Milyong milyong pasasalamat namin sa World Vision. Ang dami nilang tulong nila sa barangay at sa community. Sana tuloy-tuloy ang [suporta] nila sa aming barangay. Maraming salamat sa World Vision,” said Dimakutamalic.

[Millions of thanks to World Vision. They have helped our barangay and community a lot. I hope this [support] for our barangay would be continuous. Thank you so much to World Vision.] (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
