Islamic City of Marawi (2 August) -- A voluntary blood donation activity held recently at the Provincial Capitol gymnasium culminated the Blood Donor's Month in Lanao del Sur.
The voluntary blood donation was spearheaded by Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr. together with Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr., health secretary of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and Dr. Alinader Minalang, provincial health officer II.
With the theme, "Young Donor's: New Blood for the World," the activity encouraged young people to voluntarily donate blood in order to save lives and promote public health.
It was also aimed at raising awareness on the need of quality and safe blood as well as instilling the value of saving lives by regularly donating blood.
The activity was made possible through the partnership of the provincial government, Integrated Provincial Health Office, Philippine Red Cross-Lanao del Sur and Marawi city chapter and the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.
