Islamic City of Marawi (22 August) --- The Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LSPPO) is now conducting an in-depth investigation on the shooting incident that transpired yesterday afternoon, August 21, in front of the Mindanao State University (MSU)Tennis Court in Brgy. Cadayonan II, this city, resulting to the death of two (2) Engineering Technology students.
LSPPO chief Police Superintendent Cosanie M. Derogongan said the victims were identified as Mark Anthony B. Ticson, 21 years old, and Ever E. Sosillo, 17 years old, both students of MSU and residents of Brgy. Rapakun-Sikap, this city.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victims were on their way home from an internet café when two (2) unidentified assailants on-board an owner-type jeep shot them using Cal.9mm pistol and fled away to unknown direction.
Derogongan said Ticson sustained one (1) gunshot wound in his chest while Sosillo was hit at the back head leading to their instantaneous deaths.
Motive of the attack is still unknown, added Derogongan.
He further said the cadavers of the victims were brought to Iligan City for proper disposition.
