Just recently, the elements of the LSPPO likewise apprehended the most wanted person in Marantao town.

Madid Guro Mangacop was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest with case number 5929-08 issued by the RTC-Branch 8 for murder.

Mangacop, who is also a drug pusher, was allegedly the suspect for the murder of Mila Clarido Vilchez whose cadaver was recovered last July 29 in brgy. Bacayawan, Marantao.

Meanwhile, the local police are also conducting an investigation to identify the suspects on the shooting incident in Malabang town which resulted to the death of Ansari Mamasila Marohom, 46 years old, and barangay Chairman of Sumbagarogong of the same town.

Derogongan disclosed that the shooting incident transpired around 7 in the evening of August 15 in front of VIMAR Marketing, brgy. China Town of Malabang.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim while on board his single motorcycle on his way to the mosque to perform the evening prayer or “Tarawe” was shot by unidentified suspects using Calibers.45 and.9mm pistols per evidence of empty shells recovered from the crime scene.

Derogongan said the victim suffered multiple gun wound shots on his back and chest that caused his instantaneous death.
The police chief further said that the motive is believed to be "rido" or family feud.
