Poll body in Lanao Sur prepares for synchronized barangay, SK elections

Islamic City of Marawi (26 August) -- The Commission on Elections here is now preparing for the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on October 25. 

Atty. Nasib Yasin, provincial election supervisor, said they are still waiting for the reports from the municipal election officers of their respective Election Registration Board (ERB) hearings on the list of voters. 

The municipal ERBs convened to hear the approval or disapproval of all applications for registrations for the barangay and SK polls, he said. 

Yasin further disclosed that they will also be conducting ocular inspection of the existing polling places and voting centers to determine their availability, suitability and accessibility in the forthcoming synchronized elections. 

He also said necessary coordination with the police and military have been made to ensure that the forthcoming political exercise will be orderly and peaceful.
