Islamic City of Marawi (08 August) – In its bid to ensure a systematic way of disseminating information to the public and transparency in all its undertakings, the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LSPPO) recently organized the Ranao PNP Press Corps.
The officer-in-charge of the LSPPO, Police Superintendent Cosanie M. Derogongan, said he recognizes the vital role of media in informing the public especially the activities being undertaken by the police to promote peace and order in the province.
He said he is confident that the members of the press corps will perform the role given to them and expect a responsible reporting of the activities of the LSPPO.
Derogongan also hopes that newly-formed press corps will serve as an instrument in the reconciliation of local government units and influential leaders in the province.
The elected officials of the press corps were President: Renato Bashir M. Ilupa of DXSO Radyo ng Bayan Marawi, Vice President: Manibua A. Amol of MCA-TV, Secretary: Princess Habibah D. Sarip of NBN-Marawi, Treasurer: Merlyn T. Manos of GMA-7, and Auditor: Norhazim D. Maulana of DXSR.
