MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--To provide easy access to basic health services and maternity amenities, the Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health (MOH) inaugurated three Barangay Health Stations (BHS) in Amito Marantao, Bacolod Chico, and East Basak villages, this city.
Worth P2.5-million each, the construction of BHS is part of the Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Program funded by the Department of Health and implemented by the MOH.
MOH also equipped the facilities with mechanical beds, oxygen tank, and therapy set, 10 KVA generator set, and other medical apparatus worth P800,000 to ensure that the BHS will be instantly operational.
Health Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph led the turnover of the three BHS to Marawi City Health Officer Dr. Ali Dalidig and the respective barangay chairpersons Monday, September 27.
“We in the Ministry of Health have been trying our best to address the needs of our constituents in terms of health care and medical services. That’s why we keep on delivering basic health care services like this Barangay Health Station,” Latiph said.
For his part, Dalidig thanked the Bangsamoro Government and encouraged the barangay constituents to make use of the health stations.
“You will no longer need to endure the long queues in our City Health Office to avail of health and medical services since we have brought them to you. Our health workers will be here in this Barangay Health Station to serve you,” said Dalidig in the local dialect.
Meanwhile, 400 booklets of Usapang Bakuna were also handed over to the BHS and the Integrated Provincial Health Office for added information and understanding about the coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur with reports from Bangsamoro Information Office)
