MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur --Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said he is satisfied with the progress of the government's ongoing rehabilitation and recovery efforts in the war-torn city.
Dela Rosa expressed his satisfaction over the accomplishments of Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) during the commemoration program for the 4th anniversary of Marawi liberation held at the City Hall Gym, Saturday, October 16.
"We are satisfied. Clearly, as announced by Secretary Del Rosario, Marawi shall rise again before the term of President Duterte ends and most of the major infrastructures shall be done on or before December of 2021. We hold his words to it and we know that he is on the right track," said Dela Rosa, who chairs the Senate’s special committee on Marawi rehabilitation.
TFBM chairperson Sec. Eduardo Del Rosario earlier reported that the major accomplishments of the Task Force inside the city's most affected area (MAA) are the repair of Masjid Disomangcop, Masjid Darussalam, White Mosque, Marinaut Mosque, and Grand Mosque; construction of maritime outpost and barangay complexes in Barangays Tolali, Datu Naga, Datu sa Dansalan, Moncado Kadingilan, and West Marinaut, and the rehabilitation of Mapandi and Banggolo bridges.
Different projects outside MAA were also completed such as the Philippine National Police Communication Police Assistance Center (PNP COMPAC) 1, Marawi City Fire Substation, Central Material Recovery Facility, 18.97-kilometer Marawi Transcentral Roads, the road connecting Pantar, Lanao del Norte and Marawi City, Maul Lumbaca Ingud Ranaranao road, Lilod Guimba Bridge, 1.5-linear meter MSU perimeter fence phase, and Rorogagus East Barangay Health Station.
Other ongoing infrastructure projects are the Dansalan Bato Mosque, Grand Padian Market, 19 other barangay complexes, Peace Memorial Park, Marawi Museum, School of Living Tradition, 10 four-storey integrated school buildings, Central Fire Station, Traffic Command Center, road networks consisting of primary, secondary and tertiary roads with solar lamps and underground utilities, tourist police building, Sarimanok Sports Stadium, Convention Center, and Lake Lanao Promenade.
Meanwhile, the Senator told Marawi residents that the Senate has been working hard for the passage of the Marawi Siege Victims Compensation Act.
This act, he said, seeks to compensate the residents of Marawi City as a final step of the government to fully rehabilitate the place.
"This Act ay makakatulong po sa inyo para meron kayong magastos sa pagpaparepair sa inyong mga bahay at meron kayong financial package to start a new life (This Act will help you so that you will have funds to repair your houses and have the financial package to start a new life)," he said.
