MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--This year's Brigada Eskwela in Marawi City is not just about physically preparing classrooms for the opening of classes but it will also make sure that schools are safe from Covid-19.
"We are not only committed to making our schools conducive to learning but also to making them safe and free from any diseases, specifically Covid-19 which brought tremendous fear for all of us," said Tanjirea Mascara, the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator of the City Schools Division of Marawi (CSDM).
As such, the CSDM partnered with the City Health Office to intensify the vaccination drive in schools so that teachers, learners, and parents can avail of the Covid-19 primary and booster doses right at their doorstep.
The vaccination rollout is one of the components of this year's Brigada Eskwela in the city. The school maintenance program kicked off in Bito Elementary School Monday, August 15.
Mascara said the Brigada Eskwela which is anchored on the theme "Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral highlights the Bayanihan culture of creating a safe learning environment for the learners while ensuring the delivery of quality education amidst the pandemic. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
