MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) brought together key stakeholders in Lanao del Sur province to take stock of the emerging issues concerning the Muslim Filipinos Agenda of the Commission.
The consultation was designed to generate baseline data and the profile for NCMF's domain of constituency in Lanao del Sur province.
With the theme "Muslim Filipinos for Peace and Development," the consultation was also aimed at generating the stakeholders' commitment of support to the three main programs of NCMF. These programs focus on socio-economic, socio-cultural, and social protection.
"The 7-point Muslim Filipinos Agenda was presented, and the [participants] were divided into three groups wherein they discussed among themselves the strategic moves in which we can have collaborative efforts," said Sittie Rahana Jhan Ganda of NCMF Lanao.
Meanwhile, NCMF Secretary and CEO Lawyer Guiling Mamondiong urged the stakeholders to continue pushing for a genuine and lasting peace so that progress and development will be attained.
"Hindi tayo magkakaroon ng katahimikan kung walang kapayapaan, hindi tayo magkakaroon ng kaunlaran kung walang kapayapaan. Isulong natin ang kapayapaan sa buong bansa," he said.
Mamondiong also bared that NCMF will soon launch a nationwide peace caravan to bring to the grassroots the consciousness and understanding of building a culture of peace. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
