LDS SK federated president drives youth to do service

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Youths in the province of Lanao del Sur have become more driven to be of service to their fellow individuals just as how they are inspired by their Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federated President Board Member Jamil Faisal “Jeff” Adiong who they have seen to have implemented various initiatives for the young generation in their place. 

Mohammad Sokur Panondiongan, the SK president of Bacolod Kalawi town in Lanao del Sur, believed that the programs of Adiong are beneficial, especially since they are focused on making good for the youths. 

He shared that just like Adiong, he also strives to be of service to his fellow youths as he wants them to be encouraged and engaged in a good agenda so that they may be honed as good role models. 

Along with their efforts, Panondiongan conveyed his optimism that everyone in his generation would achieve what they deserve to have.

“Sa mga kabataan, sana ipatuloy niyo ang passion niyo at ang mga bagay na magpapasaya sa inyo. Sana, sa kahit anong aspeto niyo sa buhay, huwag kayong mawawalan ng pag-asa. Tuloy-tuloy lang at tandaan na habang may buhay, may pag-asa,” he said.

[To the youths, I hope you continue your passion and the things that make you happy. I hope that in whatever aspect of your life, you do not lose hope. Just continue and always remember that as long as you live, there is hope.]

Meanwhile, Nasimah Tawakal Abdul Carim, who is a volunteer of the Office of Board Member Jamil Faisal “Jeff” Adiong, said she willingly joined the team that would spearhead activities for the youths in the province because she wanted to participate in developing the young generation.

“Being one of his volunteers is an opportunity because it is very challenging work… Patuloy nating palalakasin ang boses ng kabataang Meranaw [Let us continue strengthening the voice of Meranaw youths],” she said. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
