Islamic City of Marawi (22 October) -- All is set for the conduct of the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections here on October 25.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec), the Philippine Army (PA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) are ready and prepared for the elections and we will not tolerate anybody to hamper and destruct the electoral process, stressed City Election Officer Atty. Tommy Macadindang.
He said the election returns arrived yesterday while the official ballots are expected to arrive Saturday.
In terms of security, the city election officer disclosed that the local police and army have already laid down their security measures concentrating on the declared hot spot barangays.
Earlier, the Comelec has identified 26 out of the 96 barangays here as hot spot areas.
Both police and army will also put-up elections monitoring action centers in their respective headquarters to oversee poll security-related matters.
