Islamic City of Marawi (29 October) -- The peace and order situation in some barangays in Lanao del Sur in which the elections have failed is generally peaceful and manageable.
Police Superintendent Cosanie Derogongan, provincial police director, said the peace and order in these areas remains normal and manageable by the local police.
He said he has pulled-out his security forces from these areas pending the decision of COMELEC en banc on the failed elections.
He stressed that the role of the police during the elections was to provide security and ensure the integrity of the polls.
With regards to the police trainees, Derogongan disclosed that the instruction of the regional police director to him was to account all police trainees who served as board of election tellers during the elections.
All the trainees were now staying at the provincial capitol gym, he said.
He further said that he is waiting for further instructions when to send the police trainees back to their respective regions.
