MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The government is aiming to administer booster shots against Covid-19 to 50 percent (%) of the country's eligible population within the first 100 days of the Marcos administration.
Usec. Abdullah Dumama Jr. of the DOH-Field Implementation and Coordination Team for Visayas and Mindanao disclosed this during the inauguration of the IPHO new building Wednesday, July 20.
Dumama said it was the instruction of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to the Health Department to accomplish for his first 100 days in office.
He said the President also directed them to vaccinate 90% of the target elderly population with two primary doses.
"Ibig sabihin 90% (ng A2) ang hahabulin namin hanggang October 8, sa kanyang first 100 days. Meron din tayong hahabulin na at least 50% sa total target eligible population natin ay mabigyan ng booster," he said.
With this instruction, Dumama called on the public to get their Covid-19 jabs and booster doses.
"If you are not yet vaccinated even once, now is the best time to get one, complete the two primary doses, and avail of the booster dose thereafter," he said pointing out that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and free of charge. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
