TAMPARAN, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Looking at the positive outcome of the effort recently extended to them, the local government of Tamparan in Lanao del Sur magnified the significance of the Qurbani program of the Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) Philippines in the Muslim life.
Under the initiative, the international non-government organization distributed July 11-12 sacrificial meat packs to some 10,000 morits or learners of madrasahs and torils, including those in the municipality of Tamparan.
Tamparan Municipal Senior Councilor Engr. Ameril Ali conveyed his gratefulness to the IRW-Philippines for covering the madrasas and morits in their town.
He said the advent of technology comes the mass destruction of culture and religion, hence, the need for the Muslim populace to be reminded of what matters most which is being in service and satisfying Allah.
As such, Ameril emphasized how relevant it is for the IRW-Philippines to provide aid to madrasahs and torils which are known to be one of the places where the Islamic faith is honed.
“Itong tulong nito sa mga madrasah ay napakalaking tulong lalo na ngayong panahon na we need to give importance to the madrasah because it is a school na nagtutulong magturo sa mga turo ng ating Prophet Mohammad,” he said.
[This help to the madrasahs is a big one especially in the time now that we must need to give importance to the madrasahs because it is a school that helps teach the teachings of Prophet Mohammad.]
After seeing his enjoying constituents, Tamparan Municipal Administrator Teddy Boy Disomimba also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the IRW-Philippines.
He mentioned that the act displayed was significant in the observance of the feast of sacrifice.
“Talagang nakakapagbigay tayo ng joy sa ating students sa distinguished schools kaya kami ay natutuwa… Very thankful kami na nabigyan kami ng ganitong blessing dito sa municipality of Tamparan,” he said.
[We were really able to give joy to our students in distinguished schools that is why we are happy… We are very thankful because we were given this kind of blessing here in the municipality of Tamparan.]
Highlighting the efforts of their administration, the municipal administrator stated that their local government is pushing for programs as well to complement the service rendered by the IRW-Philippines. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
